Ph.D., Associate Professor and Head of the Entertainment Media Management Program at California State University Northridge
I am an associate professor and head of the Entertainment Media Management program at California State University Northridge. I teach courses and conduct research in media management, audience research, entertainment marketing and branding, advertising, and strategic management for entertainment firms. I have published my research in such peer-reviewed academic journals as the Journal of Consumer Marketing, Journal of Media Business Studies, Journalism and Mass Communication Educator, and The Journal of Social Media in Society. I have also written a book chapter on entertainment marketing and branding for The Handbook of Media Management and Business. I have worked as a project manager for Nielsen, and I have served several start-up media firms as a marketing strategy consultant. As of August 2023, I became a contributor to Forbes and am tasked with writing articles for their Hollywood and Entertainment section. Prior to entering academia, I worked as an advertising senior account executive for CBS, WB, and UPN network affiliates and as an account executive in satellite television for EchoStar Communications Corporation.
